The origin of the name NIOÉLIA:
In the local dialect of Zakynthos, ‘NIO’ implies every year’s new olive oil. While ‘ÉLIA’ alludes to the antiquated, favored tree which offers its unique nectar, the olive oil.
This premium product is collected from semi-mountainous olive groves in Zakynthos island Greece, solely by hands, early in the harvesting period. Daily oiling by cold extraction is another crucial element that contributes to its superior quality. The acidity is notably low (<0.3%) and the taste is intensively bitter. When the bottle opens, a unique aroma with a slight tone of orange seduces the senses.
NIOÉLIA premium has been awarded by the World Olive Center for Health, due to its high phenolic content. Therefore, it is a health-claimed olive oil, in accordance with the EU regulation 432/2012.
The high concentration of phenols, such as Oleocanthal and Oleacein (among others), has anti-inflammatory and anti-oxidant effect in the human organism. Olive oil polyphenols contribute to the protection of the blood lipids from oxidative stress. The beneficial effect is obtained with a daily intake of at least 20gr of olive oil (~1.5 tbs), within the context of a balanced diet and regular exercise.
Keep it in a cool (and preferably dark) place, away from odors.
